Follow in the footsteps of adventurers before you on an amazing 18 day trip to Mount Everest Base Camp through the breathtaking Himalayan mountain range. The expedition is an accessible trek for all ages with little trekking experience required! Truly the adventure of a lifetime!

The trip begins with your international flight, which is included in our packages, to the bustling capital city of Kathmandu. We offer a range of accommodation to meet your needs and budget whilst you stay in Kathmandu. During the expedition you stay in beautiful quaint teahouse accommodation. After the expedition we offer numerous other activities ranging from relaxing rainforest spa retreats to heart stopping 160m high bungee jumps! This is an experience not to be missed!!

Day 1 – An Unforgettable Flight

The expedition begins with an exciting flight through the Himalayas from Kathmandu to the small town of Lukla. Get your first glimpse at the mountain peaks and what is in store for you! The actual expedition to Everest lasts 12 days, 8 days up and 4 days down, but we include 4 insurance days for the domestic flight to Lukla in case weather conditions prevent the flight from going out.

We provide a photographer to capture your expedition so you can show off to your friends, not many people can pull out photos of the top of the world! Although you do not summit Everest, going over 60% of the way to it is a amazing achievement and does not carry the 1 in 10 chance of death that summitting Everest involves.

Day 1 – Lukla to Phakding

Day 1 of the expedition starts with a 230m descent from Lukla to the peaceful riverside hamlet of Phakding. We provide you with a high protein and carbohydrates menu throughout the expedition to give your body the strength it needs for the expedition.

When you arrive in Lukla your body will immediately start naturally acclimatizing to the conditions of altitude. At Phakding you have the option to visit a stunning hidden away monastery which you reach by ascending 200m over an hour walk from the hamlet. By visiting the monastery you will also aid the acclimatization process. This will be your first opportunity to gain an insight into the local way of life in remote regions.

Day 2 - Phakding to Namche Bazaar, Day 3 - Acclimatization

On Day 2 you will reach the hidden town of Namche Bazaar after 5 hours of trekking during which you shall ascend 830m. Namche Bazaar is the hub of trade in the region and was originally a place of refuge for Nepalese to escape persecution. It is situated in a U-shape valley and only reachable by foot.

Day 3 will be an acclimatization day to allow your body to adjust to the new levels of altitude. During this day you shall ascend 500m and then descend back to Namche. During the days trek you will also visit the worlds highest ‘airport’ and the first chance to see some of the 6,500m + mountain peaks including Aba Dablam!

Day 4 - Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

On day 4 prepare yourself to leave behind the last traces of populated civilization and head out to the world famous Tengboche Monastery. This is the traditional calling point for Everest summiteers to visit before their summit attempt to obtain a blessing. You will have the chance to visit the historic monastery, see all of the beautiful architecture and have a glimpse at the disciplined life of the monks who inhabit the monastery.

The Tengboche Monastery is absolutely stunning on its own, but what makes it even more breathtaking is that it is overlooked by the awe inspiring Abu Dablam (6,856m). Abu Dablam is regarded by many as the most beautiful mountain in the world, so the combination of the two produces an indescribable spectacle

Day 5 – Tengboche – Dingboche, Day 6 Acclimatization Day

Set out on day 5 to the remote hamlet of Dingboche. As you pass the 4,000m mark the tree line suddenly disappears and you are greeted by a harsher, rockier terrain. From here onwards you are constantly surrounded by spectacular mountain peaks; simply breathtaking!

On Day 6 you shall start the day with a 400m ascent and then descent back to Dingboche to aid the acclimatization process. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and taking in the sights as you adjust to the new levels of altitude.

Day 7 – Dingboche – Lobuche, Day 8 Lobuche – Gorak Shep

On day 7 set out from Dingboche to Lobuche, which lies on the edge of the Kumbu glacier. Once you arrive in Lobuche you will stop for lunch and then make a 200m ascent and trek along a ridge of the glacier. As you walk you will notice a constant growl as the glacier crawls along and the ice shifts.

On day 8, there is an absolute buzz of excitement in the air are your goal of reaching Mount Everest Base Camp is about to be realised. You will set out trekking parallel to the Kumbu glacier to reach Gorak Shep by lunch. After a bite to eat you will push on to Mount Everest!

Day 9 – Summit Kala Patthar

Summiting Kala Patthar is optional but offers the best panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse. Spectacular is the only way to describe the views from Kala Patthar! The ascent of Kala Patthar takes generally between 1.5 – 2 hours!

After descending back to Gorak Shep, you will begin the three day trek back to Lukla stopping off at Pangboche and Namche Bazaar. The return journey is much easier and quicker due to it being downhill although walking sticks come in handy at this stage of the expedition. Once back in Kathmandu you will enjoy a delicious celebratory meal at the traditional Everest summiteers restaurant. This is an adventure of a lifetime that should not be missed!!!

Day 8 – MOUNT EVEREST BASE CAMP

After an hour and a half trek all of your hard work will pay off as you reach Mount Everest Base Camp. The feeling of satisfaction is indescribable as you reach this legendry spot. You will spend about an hour at base camp taking in the views and capturing this magical moment on camera.

Everest summiteers set up camp here during mountaineering seasons to manage the operations of the climbers who are making the summit bid. Simply reach base camp is a once in a lifetime achievement and something to be truly proud of!

Time to chill: visit the beautiful Pockhara Lake

After a testing expedition take some time out to relax and no where offers a better place to do so than at the beautiful, peaceful Pockhara Lake. After the expedition, the warmer climate of Pokhora will be hugely appreciated but at the same time you shall still have the benefit of stunning mountain peaks!

Tumbling from the snow-capped peaks of Tibet, the Bhote Kosi river provides some of the most exciting rafting and kayaking in Nepal, and is quite possibly one of the best short river trips offered anywhere in the world! A unique combination of exceptionally fun and challenging rapids, without it ever getting past the point of recreation.

The thundering of the next rapid is never far downstream and only occasional pools of calm give a chance to reflect on the awesome beauty surrounding the river.

Birds Eye View: Paragliding in Pockhara

If the Everest expedition has satisfied your need for excitement then a 160m bungee jump over a raging river surely will. This is not for the faint hearted! Situated in the jungle on a purpose built bungee bridge, this is one experience that you surely will not forget. At 160m high, this is one of the highest bungees in the world and serious fun!

Show off to your friends afterwards by showing them a video of your bravery as you fly like superman, or maybe not if you bottle it and crumple off the edge screaming incoherently! Either way it will still look awesome!

Visit the Chitwan National Park for an unforgettable Safari. If you’re ready for some warmer temperatures after the Everest expedition this is definitely the option for you. The Chitwan is bustling with life. Mammals which can be found in the park include numerous species of wild cats including the Bengal Tiger, Rhinos, Elephants, Deer, Antelopes and so many more.

After the swing, grab a bite to eat (If you can hold it down) at the adjacent hidden resort and watch your performance on the swing on a big screen. After all of this you might be ready to wind down with a massage, sauna or plunge pool by taking advantage of all the resort has to offer.

Hustle and bustle of city life: Explore Kathmandu

Don’t miss out on all that Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, has to offer! There is so much history to learn about and countless beautiful temples and monasteries to visit. The bustling market places give you the chance to pick up some authentic souvenirs.
